Firiel Hubbell is a paralegal with the R. Shawn McBride Law Firm, PLLC. Firiel has a masters of science degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. She has worked at two “big law” firms focusing on Competitive Intelligence research as well as working as an Electronic Resources Librarian. Firiel’s background is in business development and government.
Before working at the R. Shawn McBride Law Firm, PLLC, Firiel worked as a Librarian. She gained experience creating television commercials, adult programming and participated in fundraising for the public library. It is while working for the local government, Firiel’s interest in law was fully realized.
After graduate school, Firiel worked at two “big law” firms. As a Competitive Intelligence Specialist, where she analyzed open source resources, finance & securities data, business & corporate directories to develop a strategic business plan for attorneys and upper management.
Firiel also worked as a Librarian for a law firm. It is in this position, Firiel gained substantial research knowledge of legal treatises, journals, loose-leaf series, and subscription database research. Firiel particularly enjoys legal research and is taking the LSAT later this year.
Firiel Hubbell is an honorary member of the Ft. Worth Bar Association.
She presented 1001 Great Ideas at the Texas Library Association in 2010.
She has co-presented at a handful of library associations in Dallas.
